Adventures In Parenting
Welcome To Our Three Ring Circus!

Life has begun to settle down around here. We are just tickled now with how the three kids are doing, and we owe a debt of gratitude to the folks at Mom's Notes and Growing Kid's God's Way.

I just can't thank them enough for how peaceful my house has become due to taking the Growing Kid's God's Way class and then using the Mom's Notes to fine-tune it. Kids won't ever be perfect, and yes, they are only four-years, two-years and 7-months old, but mine sure are more content.

Our Experience

Our oldest son had hit the Terrible Twos full force! Although the Baby Wise books had made his first year less stressful, I hadn't gotten the same results from the Toddler Wise and Preschool Wise books. I couldn't pull it all together.

I noticed that a few parents had really well-behaved youngsters, and 75% of them had one thing in common: The Growing Kid's God's Way course. I signed up, and just as we were getting ready to begin the 17 week course my husband was transferred to England. Chris was in America only about 16 days for the next two months, and our parenting reached a new low.

Four months later we were finally settled in England and had a two-month-old baby almost sleeping through the night, so I ordered the DVD series and my husband and I went through the course together, just the two of us. Things got significantly better and I was tickled, yet there were areas I couldn't figure out, so I ordered the Mom's Notes series as a supplement.

Mom's Notes CD's have filled in the gaps and given me a guide-post for how to have better days with the kids. It is the frosting on the cake.

My Opinion

In my opinion, the Growing Kid's God's Way course is the best way to see how important your job as a parent is. If or when that responsibility gets over-whelming, the Mom's Notes will save the day. The Mom's Notes help you understand the day-to-day application and how the principles apply to each age group.

You may be thinking, "Deb doesn't know how controversal these old-fashioned parenting approaches are." But hey, it's me: I spent hours reading the critics of this 'old-fashioned' approach and I am unconvinced that 'modern' parenting methods are good for my kids. Besides, I've not seen any criticism of the Mom's Notes CD's. They are very enlightening. Even non-Christians can make use of their information.

All I can tell you with certainty is that because of Mom's Notes and the course; I now spank my kids less, get angry less often, yell less, my kids fight less with each other and I don't miss my career as much. Even my marriage is better.

So again, to the folks at Mom's Notes and Growing Kid's International: Thank You! You have made a huge difference in my home.
